In order to assist to perform the comprehensive and continuous care of family practice and to identify and quantify the relationship of life change events and associated social readjustment, SRRS was selected, studied and analyzed in Korean general populations. The general findings are as follows: 1. Total population of samples is 425 and among them, male was 38.4% and female was 61.6%. 2. The age group of 20-29 was 60.7% and the largest. 3. Among 43 items, total 10 items-troubles with the boss, major change in eating habits, minor violations of the law, major change in financial state, marital separation from mate, wife beginning or ceasing work, vacation, Christmas, changing to a new school, beginning or ceasing formal schooling-are statistically significant in female population and total 8 items-death of a close friend, outstanding personal achievement, major change in church activities, being fired from work, major change in working hours conditions, major change in usual type of recreations, Christmas, changing to a new schooling-are statistically significant in age group of 20-29. 4. Among 43 items, total 15 items-death of a close family member, marriage, pregnancy, death of a close friend marital reconciliation with mate, outstanding personal achievement, son or daughter leaving home, In-law troubles, major change in number of family get-together, major change in living conditions, major change in church activities, change in residence, major change in usual type of recreation, major change in social activities, vacation-rank higher in Korean than in American or Japanese samples.
Peutz-Jeghers syndrome is a rare disorder characterized by clinical triad of mucocutaneous pigmentation, gastrointestinal polyps and familial occurrence. Many cases have been reported from all over the world, but rare in Korean literature. This paper presents a case of Peutz-Jeghers syndrome and a brief review of pertinent literature. A 21 year old man was hospitalized with the symptoms of intermittent abdominal pain and general weakness. Physical examination on admission revealed pale appearance with anemic conjunctiva, typical dark brownish pigmentation on the lower lip, buccal mucosa, digits and sole. Gastrointestinal X-ray studies showed no abnormal findings except a large rectal polyp, but multiple polyps of various sizes and shapes in the duodenum and a small polyp in the gastric antrum were observed by endoscopic examination. He also had familial occurrence.
