The study of serum lipid in diabetic patients.

Serum lipids level were studied in 281 non-insulin dependent diabetic patients who were admitted at Yonsei University Hospital from January 1989 to December 1989.
The results obtained were as follows :
1. There was significant difference according to sex in cholesterol, LDL : cholesterol and HDL : cholesterol in diabetic patients.
2. There was no significant difference according to age and treatment modality in serum lipid level.
3. There was significant difference according to the duration of diabetes in cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol.
4. There was significant difference accrding to fasting blool sugar in triglyceride.
5. There was significant difference according to duration of diabetes in cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol.
6. There was significant difference between hypertensive and normotensive patients in cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol.
