급성 약물 중독에 관한 조사성적

Abstract
An investigation was performed on 97 cases of acute drug intoxication visited to emergency room, Ogcheon St. Mary's Hospital, Catholic Medical College from september 1986 to august 1987. The results were as follows.
1. The ratio of acute drug intoxicated patients to total patients of emergency room was 3.6%
2. Male was slightly more than female(1.06:1). Age distribution had 2 peaks at 3rd decade & 7th decade(respectively 21.6%)
3. The monthly incidence was the highest in summer season (June to August)& the lowest in fall season(September to November).
4. Among the patients over 10 years, suicide attempts were 84%. Among the accidental poisoning, 8 cases were intoxicated during/after spraying agricultural chemicals & 5 cases from the overuse of herb medicine.
5. The causative agents appeared to be agricultural chemicals & medical drugs with 77.3% & 16.5%, respectively.
6. The chief complaints of the patients on admission were mental change, nausea/vomiting in order, but asymptomatic cases also were as many as 8.5%. Hypertension, tachycardia & tachypnea were observed in considerable numbers.
7. Among the 95 cases except DOA, 41 cases were admitted on this hospital, 35 among 75 cases of agricultural chemical intoxicion, 5 among 16 cases of medical drug intoxication.
8. The fatality rate was 13.4%, Gramoxone intoxication had near 100% fatality rate.
